Our Teens & Adult’s Taekwondo program for 13 year olds and older will give you the tools to be successful in life. You will learn the important lessons of perseverance, respect, loyalty, self control, coordination, flexibility, agility, self defense, stress relief, anger management, and much more in a positive family oriented environment. You will also learn the basic and advanced strikes, kicks, blocks, foot work, trapping, weapons, joint manipulations, and other skills of Taekwondo and Martial Arts while attending our life enriching classes.

Our Teens and Adult Taekwondo classes are structured in a way where both the beginning and as well as the advanced students can continue to learn and develop their minds, bodies, and spirits through an unique martial arts experience like no other.

Through an uniquely structured class format includes lining up, bowing, taking attendance, warm up and stretch, and structured curriculum. Each class is 60 minutes in length.

Begin class by lining up, Bowing In, Student creed

End class with Mat Chat and Bowing Out
Our curriculum is taught in an educational, fun, and energizing way through various drills and skills geared towards allowing you to benefit the most out of their classes.

“I was new in Cobourg at the beginning of September 2010, as fan of Taekwondo, the first thing for me was to find a taekwondo club in the city. With some research I found Cobourg Taekwondo. 1. How many times a week do you recommend I attend classes?

We currently run classes 6 days a week. We could like to see our students attend at least 2-3 a week. Ideally as much as possible but whatever your schedule allows you to attend class.

2. How long have these classes been in the area?

Cobourg Tae Kwon Do has been teaching Taekwondo and  Martial Arts since the early 1990′s.

3. What do Ineed to attend Taekwondo classes?

Our students wear a Taekwondo uniform called a Dobuk and start with a white belt.

4. What is the payment structure like?

You can pay on a monthly basis or you can choose to pay 3 months at a time or more. We do offer family discounts and other payment plans as well to hep suit your needs.

5. What type of payments do you accept?

We accept cash, debit card, credit card, money order, or cheque. Whatever it easiest for you.

6. Who teaches the Taekwondo classes at Cobourg Tae Kwon Do?

Master Jonathan Field teaches the classes. He owns and operates Cobourg Tae kwon Do. He is certified as a martial arts instructor, a MMA conditioning coach, and Level 2 Kettlebell instructor. He also is a 5th degree black belt in Taekwondo, 8 time world champion, and 2 time world record holder. His education and experience with students of all ages help when teaching the  essential skills like balance, coordination, strength, respect, perseverance, flexibility, self defense, and much more. We also have other instructors that will help teach the classes. Our instructions hold various certifications, championships, awards, and have many years of martial arts and fitness experience. 7. What will I be learning in Taekwondo class at Cobourg Tae Kwon Do?

You will learn basic physical skills such as coordination, balance, flexibility, agility, endurance, kinetic awareness, and more plus the physical martial arts skills of striking, kicking, blocking, foot work, takedowns, weapons, trapping, and self defense. But more importantly you will learn about respect, self confidence, perseverance, courtesy, stress reduction, anger management and all the other things that a good martial arts school can provide for you.

8. I has no previous experience in martial arts, is this class for me?

Most of the students that start Taekwondo have no experience in martial arts so you will fit right in. The class is designed to take an absolute beginner and get them ready for the more advanced classes as they mature and progress in Taekwondo and Martial Arts skills.

9. What exactly is Taekwondo?

Our Taekwondo program for Teens and Adults is a martial arts class that teaches the art of Taekwondo blended with physical skill development everyone should have as well as life development skills and verbal and non verbal self defense.
