We teach WTF Taekwondo which is an Olympic sport and a straight-to-the-point self-defense system originating from South Korea. Our Taekwondo/Martial Arts curriculum covers various techniques from traditional and modern Taekwondo, and includes techniques and training methods from Karate, Judo, Jiu Jitsu, Aikido, Kobudo, and Krav Maga. This allows our students to be very diverse in the many styles of self defense, physical fitness, and mental growth.
Each belt rank level at Cobourg Tae Kwon Do has 7 stripes that must be earned in order for a student to grade for their next rank. Our striping system allows us to closely monitor a student's progress and make sure they stay on the right path to achieve their personal goals as well as achieving their Black Belt. A well structured Taekwondo program is one of the keys to success.

These benefits are the key to how we teach our students. Our Taekwondo/Martial Arts program is designed to develop a well rounded student of the martial arts and in life. We strive on making Champions of Life!
Our classes are split up into three separate classes:
- Children's Beginner classes for 6-12 year olds, White to Green Belt
- Children's Advance Classes for 6-12 year olds, Blue to Black Belt
- Adult's All Belt Classes for 13-99 year olds, White to Black Belt
Black Belt Club and Master’s Club are additional classes offered to our students of orange belt and above. Also, to be a member of the black belt club, one must have black belt as one of their goals in Taekwondo. These classes teach students the use of traditional martial arts weapons such as the nunchaku, bo, kamas, tonfa, and other martial arts weapons. Students will also learn other skills not taught in regular classes like diving rolls, musical and creative forms, point style sparring, and extra practice for their gradings and demonstrations.

"If you are looking for a great place to make a positive change in your life, then I absolutely recommend Cobourg Tae Kwon Do. I was first impressed by the dojang's cleanliness, bright room and excellent quality equipment. Now one year later and determined to reach for my black belt, I enjoy the encouraging, friendly, environment which promotes the development of excellent martial arts skills and positive values. Classes are always fresh, always challenging and it's never a chore to attend class. For physical fitness, martial arts skills, and spiritual development, I highly recommend Cobourg Tae Kwon Do. Cobourg Tae Kwon truly changed my life."
